Novation Peak Desktop Polysynth
Introductory overview The Novation Peak is a desktop-format polyphonic synthesiser designed for studio and live electronic music production. It combines a digital sound-generation stage with analogue signal processing, offering an eight-voice architecture for detailed sound design, chordal work, and expressive synthesis. Key characteristics and design The Peak is built around three New Oxford oscillators per voice, using numerically controlled oscillators (NCOs) alongside 17 digital wavetables. This hybrid approach allows stable tuning while retaining a broad range of harmonic possibilities. Each voice is processed through a resonant multi-mode analogue filter, followed by multiple distortion stages placed before the filter, after the filter, and globally. The synthesis engine supports extensive modulation through a 16-slot modulation matrix, complemented by direct front-panel assignments. Three ADSR envelopes and two LFOs per voice are available, enabling complex and evolving modulati...
